Hello all,
Today marks the end of the Mall era. We’ve spent 8.5 years here. Though it wasn’t aesthetically awesome (ok, it was pretty awfulJ) it served the purpose well as we continued to grow and evolve. Believe it or not, we at one time or another occupied every office suite in the Sales, Marketing and Finance side except for 4 suites (there are 11 over there). There was definitely musical chairs going on for a while. I think Josh worked in about 10 different offices and he didn’t occupy an office until 2006 or so.
The rent was cheap, ok, really cheap (<$7/sq.ft). There was an aspect that was anti conducive for clients and most likely some potential/existing employees to be exposed to. We had goth’s walking around, people living out of their shopping carts, stalkers, a mini fire, Schneider (Rick), the crazy dentist, Bob and Nelson Insurance smoking like crazy, battles over the stupid heat and AC with the psychologist and crazy dentist, no heat in suite 6. There were some tough discussions, hires and fires, yes. There were also lots of great moments….awesome employee reviews, prospective client meetings, solving client problems, brainstorming, growth to the point where we are the 70th largest MSP in the US and putting up the ARHD sign (which will be moving though we haven’t determine how or when we will mount). Good memories for sure. So we spent 4.75 years in my house (Diane was a true team player), 8.5 years at the mall. I guess we’ll spend the next 15 years at our new space (which looks great!). Wow, that’ll make me 66. We’re growing up as a company, we’re going to work in office space that exemplifies what our company is about….professional, cutting edge and efficient by exemplifying our core values (no, I’m not going to list themJ). Thank you’s go out to the people cc’d on this email. You were or are part of what has made ARHD. Special thanks goes out to Cub Brooks, Gene Trainor (our first client, NEA, who let us house our equipment at their location for 5+ years) and Mark Katz who put up with Josh and (especially)me in the early years. You taught us well.
Let’s take a moment in our day and reflect (especially the longer term employees and office staff). If you feel up to it send an email out of a moment or 2 that stuck out to you during your tenure. Max has a picture that he took that says it all about the mall which he’ll send out today.
It’s a great day and a bit of a sad one!
Go get em!
