We had the pleasure of hearing Tod Leiweke tell us about his journey through the management of professional sports.
The question was asked by the audience: “What is a lesson you are willing to give to us based on your experiences?”
“Passion. Fortitude. Compromise. “
Three simple words.
Passion, Leiweke said, “You must be excited and passionate about what you are doing if you intend on being successful in an endeavor.”
“Fortitude, you must be willing to do what it takes to get there. Getting up early even when you are tired, staying late when all you want to do is relax, never being willing to settle.”
How are you implementing these two philosophies in your life or business?
Last but not least, compromise.
“Compromise, a great leader must be willing to compromise. If your beliefs are so ingrained that they cloud your ability to include outside thoughts and ideas you will never reach the levels of success you desire.”
It was a short and articulate response to such a powerful question. Regardless of who you are and where you are in business it makes you reflect on how you go about day to day activity.
Are you moving closer to your goals and dreams on a regular basis? If not which of these three ideas are you lacking in, and more importantly what are you willing to do about it?
