So you have open appointments in your calendar and regardless of what you try you just can’t get the phone to ring any more than it has been. What do you do!?!

First you must realize you are in the customer service business even more so than you are in practicing medicine. Patient satisfaction is your most valuable marketing resource. Whether you believe it or not virtually every new patient you have is checking you out online.

They are Googleing you and your field of practice. In most cases review sites will show up on the first page somewhere, how are you ranking?

If you are like most practices you don’t acknowledge let alone claim the profiles.

Here are 2 critical steps to take to increase your online presence and keep track of office management.

  1. Claim and complete profiles on the top medical review platforms: Ratemds.com, Healthgrades.com, Vitals.com, Doctorbase.com, Yelp, Google Places.
  2. Show interest in you patients and ask them to help you help others and give you a review on one of these platforms. You can manage this by having a postcard to hand to them with a URL that links directly to one of these sites which you can change as you wish so one week you can point it to healthgrades, and the following ratemds. It is important to follow up with patients by email within 24 hours checking on them as well as remind them to give you a review (include the link in the email).

By showing that you are not only taking the time to provide quality medical advise but help make your practice more patient friendly you will stand apart from the vast majority of medical professionals in no time.
